LA COCCINELLE acknowledges the duty of care to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and is committed to ensuring Safeguarding Practice reflects Statutory Responsibilities, Government Guidance and complies with Best Practice and OFSTED Requirements. We ask all parents and visitors NOT to allow anyone (including parents) into the nursery. We have in place an outstanding Biometric Door Entry System and CCTV system at all our nurseries. Only staff is allowed to let people in, as this will allow us to verify their identity and the reason for their visit.
We have a Safeguarding Policy and it covers the security of the premises.
Anyone failing to comply with our Safeguarding Policy and Procedure and or put the children into our care at risk will have actions taken against them.
PLEASE DO NOT USE YOUR MOBILE PHONE WITHIN THE SETTING
All staff, students, visitors, parents and contractors are asked not to use their mobile phone within the setting. La Coccinelle has it own mobile phones that staff are permitted to use within the setting and during outings. We ask all parents/carers to either turn their phone off or to switch it to silent mode. If you need to answer an urgent phone call, please speak to a member of the staff for assistance.
Social networking has become a very popular way for people to organise their lives and keep in contact. It is a tool to share information, gossip, photos, arrange social gatherings and invite friends to events etc.
At La Coccinelle, we aim to be very friendly and to build a strong relationship with all the families. However, our staff are not allowed to request or accept parents on Facebook Twitter etc. Our settings have a Facebook page and a Twitter account. Parents can use them to stay informed on what is happening and to view their children’s pictures. Every picture is checked and approved by our Child Protection Lead before it is published.
PEASE DO NOT REQUEST OR ADD OUR STAFF PAST OR PRESENT AS FRIENDS ON SOCIAL NETWORK - THIS CAN LEAD TO A FINE FOR UP TO £10,000.00 FOR BOTH THE STAFF AND THE PARENT.
ARRIVALS AND DEPARTURES
Please ensure you do not arrive early for your child’s session. If you arrive before the start of the session, we will ask you to wait outside or to come back later. This is because we have to ensure that at all times, we meet the child/adult ratio requirement. We also advise parents to arrive 15mns before the end of the session to collect their child. This is because you have to have collected your child and left the room by the end of your session.
We will start charging you if you have not picked up your child 5mns after the end of the session. We charge for the first 10mns and for every 30mns if you have not made previous arrangement with the Manager.

Clothing and personal property:
We requests that each child is provided with a complete change of clothes. We attempt as far as possible to purchase glue, paste and paint, which are "washable" however it is not guaranteed that everything is washable. Therefore parent should dress their children with this in mind.
We will accept no liability for clothing damaged while the child is at the nursery.
Parents should discourage children from bringing valuables to the nursery (jewelry, toys or games).
We will accept no liability for any personal belongings being lost or damaged.
Help toward your childcare cost
- HMRC and Tax Credit
Please contact HMRC as you may be entitled to help with your childcare cost if you are a working parent/carer.
We have the right to provide the Tax Credit Office information relating to your childcare cost and work with them to help tackle Tax Credit fraud. Therefore, make sure you inform them of any change to your childcare provider and or cost as by not doing so, you may be asked to pay back all the money already paid to you and you may face a fine.
By signing a contract with us, you automatically give us permission to provide HMRC Tax Credit, details such as:
The name of the children attending,
The date you started using our services,
Your weekly childcare cost including details of any changes since you started,
The date our contract ended (if applicable)
Details of any Outstanding fees.
La Coccinelle will not be in breach of terms and conditions or liable to you because of a delay in performance or non-performance of our obligations due to any events outside of our control.
These include evens such as: Fire, Flood, War, and Lost of utilities, Act of terrorism or Strikes.
La Coccinelle will not accept responsibility and will not be held liable for:
Accidental injuries including nappy/skin rashes.
Loss or damage of any kind to a child’s or parent’s property,
The conduct of our staff outside nursery working hours
The conduct of our staff through social networking sites
Employment of our staff:
By signing our contract, you agree:
Not to solicit any member of our staff for your own purpose.
Not to recruit or make an offer of employment to any member of staff whilst employed or within 3 months of terminating employment with us.
Not to solicite or add our staff on social network such as Facebook etc.
If you do so, you will be liable to a maximum of £10,000 compensation.
If you require services such as pick ups/drop offs, babysitting, nanning or overnight care, please speak to the management as we could be able to make appropriate arrangements or refer you to a registered childcare provider who can provide you with this service. However, we will not be held responsible for their conduct during this time.
